Women’s Foundation opens grant round starting today

The Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona today (Oct. 26) begins accepting letters of intent for its 2009-2010 grant round. Organizations interested in applying for a grant must submit an electronic letter of intent by Nov.  13 at www.WomenGiving.org.

The mission of the Women’s Foundation is to foster equity and opportunity for women and girls. Over the past 16 years, the foundation has invested more than $1.2 million in programs benefitting women and girls in Pima, Cochise and Santa Cruz counties.

This year the foundation will award grants of up to $15,000 for projects that address social justice and human rights, economic justice, or health, safety and well-being for women and girls.

In its 2008 grant round, the foundation awarded more than $130,000 to eight programs in Southern Arizona.
