Tucson-based retailer Warehouse Vitamins has been acquired by Tree of Life Inc., based in St. Augustine, Fla.

Warehouse Vitamins, which at one time had 14 locations in the Tucson area, has been operating under Chapter 11  bankruptcy protection since April 2007. Tree of Life, which had been a supplier to Warehouse Vitamins, filed a motion in October 2008 seeking to take control of the company.

Warehouse Vitamins currently operates seven stores.
